The PERKS project aims to systematically capture, structure, and make procedural knowledge – the “how” of work processes – usable for industrial practice. Innovative digital tools are being developed to manage and provide access to this knowledge throughout its entire lifecycle.
A special focus is placed on human-machine interaction, with AI technologies used to support, not replace, human expertise. Procedural knowledge is also helpful for capturing the execution of processes in a structured manner and providing explanations of the different executions.
In the microgrid use case, PERKS explores how procedural knowledge can enhance the operation and management of decentralized energy systems. By embedding procedural knowledge and user-preferences into the control strategies or maintenance workflows of microgrids, PERKS enables more efficient and customized operation by adaptive energy distribution and improves grid-friendliness or sustainability.
